Dr. Weston Hopkins is a licensed chiropractor at Natural Health Center in Anchorage, Alaska. He is certified in Active Release Technique (ART) and Functional Range Release (FR), and is also a Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Mobility Specialist. Dr. Hopkins’ goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible so you can return to your activity of choice.

What to expect during a chiropractic appointment with Dr. Hopkins
A typical visit will begin with Dr. Hopkins taking a history of your complaint, followed by thorough movement analysis. Dr. Hopkins will then discuss his diagnosis with you. An individualized treatment plan will be formulated and discussed during the visit, with treatment to follow.

Treatment usually consists of soft tissue manual therapy, exercise prescription and manipulation/mobilization and may be coupled with a massage referral. After a treatment, you might have some soreness in the area your chiropractor adjusted. Let Dr. Hopkins know if you have pain that continues or gets worse.

Follow-up visits often are shorter than your first visit, lasting from 15 to 30 minutes. Most chiropractic treatments last for several weeks for acute issues, longer treatment for chronic issues with the goal to get you to the point where regular maintenance care. Maintenance care is a type of preventative care that is recommended so that recurrences of painful episodes are lessened.

About Dr. Hopkins, Anchorage chiropractor
Dr. Hopkins began his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas, where he completed his bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology and a minor in chemistry.

He continued his education at the University of Western States, in Portland, Oregon, where he earned his degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Hopkins has continued his post-graduate studies with extensive training in soft tissue therapy, diagnosis, movement analysis and exercise prescription.

He is a member of the International Society of Clinical Rehabilitation Specialists (ISCRS) and is currently working toward his certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT).

Outside of work, Dr. Hopkins loves to spend his time outdoors biking, skiing and hiking with his wife and children.
