Kate Swenson, LMT

Anchorage Massage Therapist at Natural Health Center

Kate Swenson, LMT was born and raised in Colorado, and was incredibly fortunate to attend the Boulder College of Massage Therapy right out of high school. She graduated their well-rounded curriculum in 2011, and is now an Anchorage massage therapist at Natural Health Center.

Following her dreams to Alaska
Kate always fantasized about living in Alaska after a family trip one summer to visit her extended family in Juneau. After massage training, her dream became a reality when she had the chance to move to Delta Junction to start her career as a massage therapist in their local chiropractic office.

Kate has spent the last nine years living in the Interior between Delta Junction and Fairbanks, practicing in a few different chiropractic offices, alongside a physical therapist, and in a health club.

Specializing in treatment-oriented techniques
As an Anchorage massage therapist, Kate specializes in treatment-oriented techniques, including deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, orthopedic, and sports massage. She has worked with an abundance of clients throughout their rehabilitation journey, whether it be post-surgical, recovering from an accident, an acute flare up, chronic pain, or general wear and tear on the body that most people face in a day to day life.

Kate is a licensed massage therapist through the state of Alaska, and has taken continuing education courses in myofascial release, fibromyalgia, and PTSD.

Tailored to each client’s needs
Kate likes to tailor each massage to the individual client’s needs, and says that the most rewarding part of her job is seeing people improve from a wide variety of past injuries and incidents.

Clients always tell Kate she gives a good, deep massage, and she utilizes a variety of techniques in her practice to help her clients down the path towards healing. She effectively supports clients struggling with neck and shoulder pain, headaches or migraines, lower back and hip problems, sciatica pain, and TMJ issues. She has also worked with plenty of prenatal women over her career, to aid them through their pregnancy, as well as after the birth of their child.

About Kate
In her free time, Kate enjoys amateur photography and is constantly astounded by the abundant scenery and wildlife found in the state. She also spends time travelling the road system in the summer months, to explore and do some basic car camping. She absolutely loves glacier wildlife cruises, particularly out of Valdez, doing one every summer, saying it helps her survive these Alaska winters. She is also a huge homebody with her kitty cat, Brooke.
