The Apothecary

Natural Health Center houses an extensive natural products apothecary offering a wide array of herbal and nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies, Chinese medicinal formulas, and herbal teas and tinctures. These items are specifically chosen by our providers for their high quality and reliability, and may not be available anywhere else in Anchorage. The apothecary allows our providers to prescribe and immediately provide our patients with superior natural products.

The apothecary serves only patients of Natural Health Center, and is not a “walk-in” facility or health food store. If a Natural Health Center provider recommends a product from the apothecary during your appointment, we will fill it promptly. Some products such as tinctures may require 24 hours to fill.

Request a refill
Refills may be phoned-in to the front desk, left on voice mail, requested via email using our contact form, or brought in person. We make every effort to fill orders ASAP. When you call for a refill, please provide the following information:

• Patient’s name and phone number

• Provider’s name

• Name of the product needed (both brand name and supplement name)

• Size of the product (e.g., number of capsules, ounces, milligrams)

• Number of bottles/boxes needed

Please note that certain products will not be refilled unless we have a current copy of your labs for blood work. This helps to ensure the health of our patients.

Payment options
The apothecary accepts cash, check, VISA, Mastercard and debit cards. Because the vast majority of insurance companies do not cover the cost of “supplements,” we do not accept insurance or bill it for you. We will provide you with an itemized receipt if you wish to submit it to your insurance company or HSA.

Mail order options
We are happy to provide our patients with mail-out service and we routinely mail products to all corners of Alaska and the U.S. We will carefully and promptly pack your order. You may expect to pay priority mail rates and a small handling charge. Be aware that some items are shipped in cold packs and need to be refrigerated as soon as received.
