Veda Press is one of the licensed therapists offering massage therapy at Natural Health Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Her calling is to help athletes and all kinds of individuals relax their muscles. Her philosophy is to treat others how she wants to be treated and to also make everyone in her life feel better with massage.

Finding a love for massage therapy 

Growing up, Veda always enjoyed rubbing backs and feet in her family. Massage has always been a part of Veda’s love language; she knew early on it was her way of making others feel better and taking their minds off a long day.

Veda realized her talent with her hands when she was 16 years old, in pottery class. Her teacher mentioned how strong Veda’s hands were in taking the knots out of clay without using any tools.

That same year, Veda noticed her passion for physical therapy as she gradually helped her mother recover from hip surgery. As physical therapy seemed like a lot of schooling, and Veda wanted to get started sooner on her career, she decided to enroll in the Alaska Career College Therapeutic Massage Program.

Certified in several massage therapy modalities

Today, Veda is certified in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage, sports massage, foot reflexology, and hot stone massage. Her favorite modalities to practice are deep tissue, sports massage, and foot reflexology.  

With all the current knowledge and training she has gathered over the years, Veda is always eager to obtain more.

Alaska will always hold a special place in Veda’s heart, as she was born and raised in Anchorage, and has lived here all her life. She enjoys the beautiful mountains, diversity in cultures, and also Alaska’s slower pace.

Veda loves to travel the world with family and friends or solo trips as well. She is a people person who loves to try new things: eating at new restaurants, hiking and zip lining. Veda also loves to pass on kindness and a smile.
